Martin Wright, Managing Director of Marine Current Turbines said: “We welcome today’s announcement from Northern Ireland’s Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment and the kind remarks about our SeaGen project from Arlene Foster, Northern Ireland ’s Energy Minister. Drawing on our experience in Strangford Lough, the world’s first commercial scale and grid-connected tidal stream system, we have Northern Ireland’s north coast firmly in our sights for a series of SeaGens to be deployed within the next 3 to 5 years. We look forward to working with DETI, the Environment Agency and the Crown Estate and others in realising this fantastic opportunity.”
